Melanie Ann Stansbury is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New Mexico's 1st congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been in office since March 15, 2021. Stansbury has focused on issues such as climate change, public health, and economic development during her tenure. She has also been involved in efforts to improve infrastructure and support local communities in New Mexico.
So, whose free expression are we protecting at the expense of whose safety, and whose safety are we willing to allow to go to the wind so that people can speak freely?
We should not be playing politics with people's lives. This is serious. People's lives are in the balance.
It is truly a humanitarian crisis, and it is a crisis that has been manufactured, reproduced over and over again.
The Trump administration massively expanded the use of private, for-profit prisons.
It was the humane--inhumane policies of the previous administration that have contributed to this crisis.
our job is to make sure that the American people are represented and we keep this government accountable.
After three decades of bipartisan work, dedicated collaboration by our extraordinary scientists and engineers at NASA, our space industries, and of course scientists across the world, this amazing telescope launched last December.
As a woman in STEM, I want to just note that it's being led by an amazing group of women, including Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, who is the first woman ever in American history to oversee a NASA countdown and launch.
I wish I could say that state and local governments have prioritized the protection of Native women and children, but they have not.
