I am actually very excited to be talking about apprenticeships and trades education because I am a former tradesperson.

So, one of the things that New Mexico has done--and I think this goes along with some of the comments that were made about other countries--is that we made college free for all.

Thank you to Mr. Donald Trump for calling this hearing today as it demonstrates the House GOP and Donald Trump's continued attacks on our institutions and on our democracy.

It is an effort to undermine our democracy, to diminish Donald Trump's own two impeachments.

It is very odd to be having what appears to be a New York City County and City Council meeting in the chambers of the House Natural Resources Committee.

It was, in fact, the city of New York that requested this lease. It was not the Federal Government.

We took on Big Pharma and we won, in fact, with the passage to the Inflation Reduction Act.

I mean, it is really outrageous when you think about it that folks are putting profits over the health and livelihoods and well-being of our family members.

The single largest threat to the economy in the real world right now is a government shutdown.

This morning's Committee hearing has been pretty disturbing. ... private for-profit corporations that are getting in the middle of our family members getting lifesaving care.

So, Mr. Chairman, I am grateful that we are having this hearing. We desperately need to regulate and to address this issue because, as Representative Bush said, literally, lives depend on it.
