Please excuse my absence for today's Water, Oceans and Wildlife Subcommittee hearing on 'The State of Water Supply Reliability in the 21st Century' due to a family emergency.

I am concerned of how we even get it done, period.

I really appreciate that people generally understand that the majority of fishermen are not individuals who want to hurt the ocean.

I think that helps a lot in the future as we all deal with each other. We really are all in this together.

The problem now is that, for example, China is burning coal.

Do you think we can do it without really hurting the economy and making sure that people of lower socioeconomics aren't hurt?

I urge this Congress and all our Federal partners to match the same level of determination brought to disaster recovery in our fight to reduce the effects of climate change.
