I was blindsided yesterday morning. That was the first time I knew about this.
Chris Christie
The Public Record
Chris Christie is a prominent Republican politician from New Jersey, best known for serving as the 55th Governor of New Jersey from 2010 to 2018. During his tenure, he focused on fiscal reform, education, and infrastructure improvements, gaining national attention for his outspoken style and bipartisan efforts, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Christie has also served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, where he gained recognition for his work in combating public corruption and organized crime.
I had no knowledge of this, the planning, execution or anything about it. And then I first found out about it after it was over.
He also told his staff he understands that multiple investigations are going to consume a lot of time and energy.
Presumably when they say entries having to do with his re-election it's his re-election campaign.
He was to kind of try to -- a way to buck them up but also give them a bit of reality check that this is a lesson for all of them in terms of how they manage their office, their people.
Those are the people getting these first subpoenas. We have confirmed that Bridget Ann Kelly and Bill Stepian, the two aides that Christie fired last week are on the list.
He has been in New Jersey politics for decades, Anderson, working for both parties actually. But he's been a really close supporter of Chris Christie from the beginning.
The last week has certainly tested this administration. Mistakes were clearly made. And as a result, we let down the people we're entrusted to serve. I know our citizens deserve better, much better. And I'm the governor. And I'm ultimately…
there's a danger here, by the way, Anderson, for the Democrats, who are clearly enjoying the trouble that Chris Christie is in, of overplaying their hand, to a certain degree.
this is bad -- a bad story for him. Because you know what, he looks like just another politician in this particular story, using Hurricane Sandy for his own re-election, perhaps.
