For fiscal year 2009, the President proposed just $2 billion for LIHEAP, a $570 million painful cut from what Congress provided for 2008. This irresponsible cut could force New Hampshire to lose over $2.5 million in funding next year. I applaud the committee for rejecting these proposed cuts and for increasing funding for LIHEAP and other programs that will help the middle-income and lower-income families in New Hampshire and across the country. And I thank you.
