Annie L. McLane Kuster is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district since January 3, 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Kuster has focused on issues such as healthcare, women's rights, and economic development throughout her tenure in Congress. She has been an advocate for expanding access to affordable healthcare and has worked on initiatives to support small businesses in her district.
I am so disappointed that the Department of Energy has failed to publish new energy efficiency standards, thereby violating the Department's statutory obligations under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.
This bill provides us another opportunity to make healthcare more affordable.
I welcome the fact that today's hearing is about building out and improving the Affordable Care Act which is what we need to focus on.
I am encouraged that today's hearing focuses on ways to move forward and build on the Affordable Care Act.
But they have told me this year that those dramatic cuts had a very serious impact.
Unfortunately, the Trump administration attacked this crucial initiative by slashing it by over 80 percent since 2016, as well as big cuts to outreach and advertising efforts.
I do not understand that, but what I do know is the Democrats are going to forge ahead in our goal to lower healthcare costs for the American people.
Reinsurance pays for the costs of people with serious medical conditions whose healthcare costs are significantly higher than the average person.
