I speak today in support of Mr. Cassidy's bill--the Employee Health Care Protection Act H.R. 3522, This bill is very important to ensure employers and their employees can keep their plan--a broken promise from President Obama. Just last week I was contacted by the Cornerstone Staffing Inc. based in Omaha who is currently facing hard decisions in order to be in compliance with this disastrous law. Cornerstone Staffing is a woman-owned nine-year-old local business that will now suffer due to a law that no one read. Cornerstone Staffing Inc. has 15 full time employees with a range of 150 to 450 temporary employees at any given time. Previously they didn't offer insurance to all temporary workers but had the flexibility to secure coverage for those workers who needed it. Now, Cornerstone Staffing Inc. is forced to provide coverage to all of their employees--whether they need it or not--which means they can't afford to place as many individuals in needed jobs. Not only will H.R. 3522 bring some relief to companies and their employees but it will also increase government revenue by $400 million. This is common sense. I urge my colleagues to support this bill and give some relief to families across the nation. I am submitting a letter Cornerstone Staffing Inc. sent to me regarding their problems with the President's health care law.…
