I would like to thank the Senator from Iowa not only for his work on agriculture but also his leadership on the Finance Committee, which is so important to advancing USMCA. The policies we’ve secured in the Senate’s Farm Bill will help maintain our nation’s network of small, family-based farms, which is critical to our food security.
At the same time, we’ve provided $158 million for ENDAWS, and I’m advancing legislation to ensure we have the federal support needed to bring this project to completion.
Phil has done a good job serving the State of North Dakota as Solicitor General, and I believe he has the right legal temperament and experience to serve on the U.S. District Court for North Dakota.
Today’s meeting was also an opportunity to get input from our ranchers on important priorities we’ve included in the Farm Bill, including better prairie dog management and MCOOL, which we’ve been working to advance for years.
