We appreciate Acting Regional Administrator Fox and her team being in North Dakota, as well as her ongoing efforts with us to advance $75 million in key infrastructure projects for the Bismarck area and communities across our state.

Access to federal lands is vitally important for local economies, especially in North Dakota, where the Forest service manages more than one million acres.

The legislation I included in the Farm Bill will prevent the spread of prairie dog habitats, while creating a larger setback on federal acres to protect private lands from prairie dog colonies.

This proposed rule will help provide greater certainty for our ranchers, energy producers and other stakeholders while ensuring the grasslands can be responsibly managed for multiple use.
