We need to come to agreement on addressing our Nation's deficit and debt. Let us review where we are right now. If you look at our fiscal situation, right now the Federal Government takes in revenues on an annual basis of $2.2 trillion--$2.2 trillion--a year, but at the same time we are spending $3.7 trillion. I think that is what we all want. That is the Nation we have--the Nation we have had for over 200 years. That is the Nation we want to pass on to these great young people. So we have had tremendous debate for an extended period of time--for a long time.…”
