Heidi Heitkamp is an American politician and attorney who served as the United States Senator from North Dakota from 2013 to 2019. A member of the Democratic-NPL Party, she was the first woman elected to the Senate from North Dakota. During her tenure, Heitkamp focused on issues such as agriculture, energy, and rural development, advocating for policies that benefited her state's economy and communities.
I was one of the advocates back in the 1990s of the privacy notices. I think now we have had this great experiment.
We have got to act sooner rather than later because we are losing the lending lines in these institutions.
All the talk that we have here is not going to amount to anything if we actually do not get results out of this process.
We somehow cannot seem to finish it, even though we have got great bipartisan support.
This is about the very real economic consequences of what's happening in farm country.
Our producers have been tremendously patient... But that patience is wearing thin.
I believe that we need to have the same kind of reaction and the same kind of response in terms of dollars, as Senator Hoeven has said.
