Thank you to the chairman for bringing this very important legislation forward. I am pleased to be able to speak in strong support of the number of bills that we have today that will combat the problem of human sex trafficking. I would like to emphasize the urgency that this issue requires. Just this morning, one of our local papers in Fayetteville, North Carolina, was reporting that a local mother and son have been arrested and charged with human trafficking of a child victim, sexual servitude of a child and promoting the prostitution of a minor. This issue is real, and it is happening in our own backyards and across our Nation and across the world. This is only the beginning of this very important mission, and I, for one, will not rest until we find a way to stop this. This is just, again, the beginning of our fight, and I am proud to have cosponsored these bills today to stop this horrifying practice and help these victims. We will continue to do more until we eradicate this form of slavery in the United States and throughout the world.
