I oppose the estate tax provisions in this bill, and I'm thankful that the rule would allow us to vote against this estate tax. But I also oppose the extension of the high income tax cuts, and I oppose the way we are doing the Social Security situation because I think it will result in damage to Social Security. And this rule does not give me the opportunity to vote against those two things. And therefore, it's my intention to vote against the rule. I've tried to make it clear to my leadership that I think it's important for me to have that vote on those two issues, and they haven't seen fit to make that in order. So I feel like I must, under those circumstances, vote against the rule.
