Under current law, servicemembers who receive educational assistance in the form of an ROTC scholarship or who graduate from one of the service academies are eligible for full educational benefits under the Post-9/11 GI Bill. However, members of the Selected Reserve who received educational assistance under Chapter 1606 of the Montgomery GI Bill prior to receiving a commission and serving on active duty are not now entitled to the same four years of benefits under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
