I thank the Senator from Virginia for helping us come together to talk about this issue because it is of critical importance. In North Carolina, we have two justices for the Fourth Circuit Court coming before this body. They were heard in the Judiciary Committee back in January. They are ready to go. However, once again, the individual who is to vet justices has not been heard, Chris Schroeder. We need to bring him up. Although both of these individuals, Judge Wynn and Judge Diaz, have come out of the Judiciary Committee, they are waiting to come up for a vote. They are behind in the queue from all the other district court judges who have not come forward. I will say that my colleague, Republican Senator Burr, is in total agreement with both of these nominees. We need to bring them forward for a vote. The interesting fact is that one of these positions has been open since 1994. Talk about justice delayed is justice denied. It is high time this body had an opportunity to vote to put forward Judge Diaz and Judge Wynn to represent our State on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
