Mr. Chairman, as I mentioned earlier, the bill requires the commission to identify regulations--all regulations--which should be repealed. The commission focuses on rules and regulations that are out of date, no longer useful, and otherwise unnecessary or obsolete. Again, no regulations should be exempt from this bill. Ensuring the safety of the National Airspace System is critically important. We should know whether or not the existing regulations are effective and useful. This amendment would prevent the commission from reviewing these very important regulations and ensuring that they are not only current but also effective. I, therefore, urge my colleagues to oppose this amendment. Mr. Chairman, I reserve the balance of my time.
