Mr. Speaker, hypocrisy is reaching new heights today in this body. Many of the same Members who said ``bring it on'' as sequestration loomed, who relished forcing the President to make across-the-board cuts, are now in a rush to apply another Band-Aid to this artificially created crisis. Speaker Boehner said the sequestration bill included 98 percent of what Republicans wanted. But Republicans spurned a budget agreement, valuing their antitax ideology more than defense or any other cuts. As a result, sequestration fell. Now they claim: Oh, it doesn't need to hurt very much. And when the cuts bite, then they say the President must be doing this just to make a political point! So sequestration apparently wasn't supposed to be about air traffic control? The Read the Bill Caucus needs to read the bill. It was about air traffic control, and today we are going to apply a much needed Band-Aid. Maybe tomorrow we can have a bill applying to cancer research. Then the next day let's have a bill about cancer treatments. Then the next day let's apply a Band-Aid to Head Start. Then let's have one about tuition assistance to our military personnel. Then let's have one about the Border Patrol. And, by the way, if and when we apply these Band- Aids, we need to realize we're often shifting cuts to equally important areas that aren't in the news at the moment or that don't have powerful lobbies working on their behalf. My colleagues, I want to address these crises as much as any Member.…
