In one of the richest countries in the world no one working full-time should be living in poverty.

The current sub-minimum wage with tipped employees perpetuates low pay, enables, inexcusable levels of wage theft, and it leads to higher poverty rates.

It is my wish that today's hearing will provide us with an opportunity for bipartisan collaboration on policy solutions that safeguard the civil rights and dignity of all individuals.
