I am. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The Clerk will report the motion to recommit. The Clerk read as follows: Mrs. Capps moves to recommit the bill H.R. 358 to the Committee on Energy and Commerce with instructions to report the same to the House forthwith with the following amendment: In section 2(a)(7), in the amendment instruction adding the new subsection (g), strike ``subsection'' and insert ``subsections''. Insert after the subsection (g) of section 1303 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as proposed to be added by section 2(a)(7), the following: ``(h) Protecting the Life of the Mother in a Medical Emergency.--Nothing in this Act shall be construed to exempt any hospital or health care provider from Federal or State laws that require such hospital or provider to provide medical examination, treatment, referral, or transfer to prevent the death of a pregnant woman with an emergency medical condition.''.
