On the recordJune 27, 2001
we will now close and remind our colleagues that we did pass this very bill before in this House. So let us just do the right thing and pass it again. This is my pledge that I want to make to my dear colleagues who have joined us here this evening, the gentlewoman from New York (Mrs. McCarthy), and the gentlewoman from the Virgin Islands (Mrs. Christensen), let us pass the Patients' Bill of Rights and then let us gather on the floor to discuss some other needs in health care, such as the nurse and professional shortage, such as those without any access to health care because we still have a long way to go. We are willing and we are prepared, we are going to be here until we can address each of these issues. So I will join my colleagues again on the floor at a further time.
