I don't know if he read the law. Actually, the U.S. attorney general admitted today he hasn't read the law. So, maybe your councilman should read the law, not overreact.
I'm enforcing a new state law, where they're not being turned over to Immigration for a free trip back to Mexico. They're going directly to jail.
They should go to jail and do their time if they're convicted, and then we turn them over to ICE.
