I have agreed not to offer my amendment which would have required the submission to the Committee on Environment and Public Works of a log of documents relating to New Source Review at the Department of Energy by a time certain. My agreement is based on a promise from the Department made to my staff today. The Department has committed that this log will be delivered to me and the committee within the next few days. I ask unanimous consent that a September 25, 2002, letter from the Department to me, as then chairman of the committee, be printed in the Record following my remarks. This letter promised delivery of the document log by October 24, 2002, yet the Department failed to provide that log.
