I know full well that the government is on a long-term unsustainable fiscal path.

I think that got the program off to a bad start. It created a lot of skepticism about what the banks were doing with the money.

Instead of confronting this existential threat with science and ingenuity, the President is denying the threat and the problem exists and it continues.
