It is time that we are heard. We need to be listened to. We are not sitting here begging for help. We are asking you to hold up to your end of the bargain with our treaty obligations because that has definitely choked us out.

For decades we have been fighting for land, and it is about time we got an opportunity and the Tribes came together for the betterment of the whole entire Oceti Sakowin, and we were able to secure it.

This bill is an important step in our nation-to-nation relationship.

Our people suffered a lot. Our people serve this country. I am also a proud veteran, a combat veteran. And now I am fighting for my people, my tribe, and I will continue to do that.
