Donald Yamamoto: “The United States continues to play a very significant role to make a difference in the lives of the people in the DRC…”

We have offered President Biya and his government that they must reach out in an open dialogue without any preconditions.

Our immediate focus is to support the stability of the DRC through genuine free and fair elections that are credible and inclusive and lead to a peaceful democratic transfer of power.

We have to hold those people accountable.

The gains, though, can only hold through sustained good governance, commitment to tackle enormous security challenges, and determination to bring a better future for the country and its people.
