I would recommend that this group, this committee and this Congress, really consider ways to either make some of these changes permanent, or to consider an extension that goes on for the next year to 2 years.

I believe this policy should be made permanent.

I recently introduced legislation with Senator Cortez Masto to make permanent a CARES Act policy that I championed allowing first-dollar coverage of virtual care under these high-deductible health plans.

I think it is changing the rules kind of in the middle of that game that is most concerning.

Last month, Senator Stabenow and I hosted our first Finance Health Care Subcommittee hearing of the year, since May was mental health month.

In fact, following that hearing, Senator Stabenow and I decided to team up in this legislation to allow States, including Montana, to adopt the CCBHC model.

Despite this very clear directive from Congress, we have yet to see the Secretary of Interior execute the compact.

I think we were given a bit of a lucky break on that one for that clawback.
