Captain Medved was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. He deployed with Leftwich to serve in Desert Storm and Desert Shield in 1989-1990 and returned again to the Persian Gulf in 1992-1993. CAPT Medved transferred to the Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) in the summer of 1993. He reported to his first CEC assignment at Resident Officer-in-Charge of Construction, Puerto Rico Area, in January 1994.
