Mr. Chairman, thank you. I want to join you in welcoming Dr. Insel to the hearing, and also to recall that we've had hearings efforts in the past to try to develop a body of information that will help us identify better ways of dealing with autism.

Mr. Chairman, let me join you in congratulating our panel here and the participation you're bringing to this challenge.
And I plan to use my best efforts to identify the areas that we can make improvements in, and take a hard look, but at the same time realize we need to get a bill.
We appreciate very much your leadership in the research effort and we commend you and those who work with you for helping make sure we have what we need in order to make our nation safe and secure.
