“I urge a no vote on the rule. There is a crisis of faith in this country. People every 2 years run for office and ask for the privilege to serve in Congress. Yet, yesterday when the opportunity came before them to bring this measure to the House floor so we could restore that, so we could give the only people in America who were promised free health care for life, to fulfill that promise for them, those people voted against it. They will not give the majority the chance to vote for it, to take care of our military retirees, the same people who went to Korea, the people who went to Vietnam, the people who went to the desert, the people who are in Colombia today. They said, these people do not count. We ought to defeat this rule.”
