People thought Hurricane Camille was going to hit New Orleans. It did not. It hit Mississippi, and because people did not leave, 250 lives were lost. So, Mr. Chairman, I want to thank the gentleman from Florida [Mr. Young] for his opposition to this amendment, and I thank the senior member of the Mississippi delegation for standing firm in trying to replace these 30-year-old aircraft, that is the newest, where people are literally playing Russian roulette every time they fly a mission because they are the most dangerous peacetime missions that the Air Force serves.”
