Well, the Senator is correct in the fact that there are some people who are really enthusiastic about we in Washington having just wonderful wisdom to tell people what to do. The idea that the power of the purse can be used by Washington to direct people at the local level as to how to function in their lives is very, very invigorating; it just sweeps us into the enthusiasm of the thing. But I just do not understand why we should say that a school district cannot take the position that it wants to just keep out of the religious situation and let that be a matter for the families, for the churches, for the homes.
