Section 401(b) of this legislation states that: It is the policy of the United States that further releases of lead into the environment should be minimized, and methods should be developed and implemented to reduce sources of lead that result in adverse human or environmental exposures. My question has to do with the definition of further releases of lead into the environment. It is my understanding that this does not refer to lead mining activities. Instead, it refers to disposal or discharges which result in adverse human or environmental exposures.
