Yes, I am feeling well, and getting an immense amount of work done--you would be surprised.

We were disappointed in that hope.

There is nothing more constructive that young women in the United States can do for themselves and for their country than answer the call to service with our Armed Forces.

This way we hope to keep the peace.

Peace--real lasting peace--remains our greatest goal.

The burden of armaments can be lifted.

This is what all free people have been striving for.

The Soviet Union and its satellites have very large military forces ready for action.

They can control their destiny, if they will.

Both have the same aim--the aim of security and peace.

Any nation which is not willing to agree to this step, and to carry it out, is not really interested in disarmament.

We are doing this because we must.

We continue to support this plan as it now stands, but we are, of course, always ready to consider any better plan.

This is the key to armament reduction.

We hope all other nations will accept them--and will join with us in this great enterprise for peace.

We shall continue to build strong defenses in Europe and in other parts of the world--just as long as that is necessary.

I have determined that Yugoslavia is a country which is of direct importance to the defense of the North Atlantic area and that the increased ability of Yugoslavia to defend itself is important to the preservation of the peace and security…

My fellow Americans, and free peoples all around the world:

There is nothing inconsistent about these two things.

That is why we are making these new proposals to the United Nations.

We hope the proposal we are now making will be the first order of business of this new commission.

Our own armed forces and those of our allies are essential to the protection of freedom.

I have another very good reason for admiring Poland, because of your Prime Minister, Paderewski and his music, which I love very much.

I am sure that time will come.

I hope that Poland will continue the struggle, and that the time will come when Poland will again be a free country among the free nations of the world.
