Our right to vote is the foundation of our democracy. The right to vote is our instrument for change.

That makes it a crime punishable by up to a year in jail for nonpartisan volunteers to provide bottled water for voters in line outside of polling places.

This is a conversation about one party's intent, and their ongoing White supremacist attempts to suppress the power of Black and Brown, indigenous, and other marginalized voters.

We cannot throw crumbs at a situation and tell people that this is your food, you ate, and expect to see everything change the way that we`re asking for it to change.

I wouldn`t support anything that didn`t end qualified immunity. I wouldn`t support that legislation.

I need them to stop being hypocrites.

It is ridiculous the things that I am hearing today.

It is not that people want free handouts. It is that, how do we take care of ourselves?

You are telling me that people are not concerned about the well being of the American family.

Imagine punishing a low-wage worker in response to a traumatic life event.

There are people and, you know, and pastoring for 31 years to sit here and hear the inhumanity of what I am hearing here today.

If we don't have equity in this country, we don't have equality in this country.

Vaping products by JUUL present an immediate threat to adolescent health.

The information provided by JUUL does not meet the levels of scientific rigor required by actual peer-reviewed studies.

As policymakers we must be equipped with our current--with the current data, the accurate data about vaping products to protect our health and the health and safety of our--of our children.

The FDA must take drastic steps to ban the uses of--usage of JUUL products and minimize the negative impact on our youth.

Being tough on crime is the reason why we're here today. It is not because social safety nets were being taken care of.

We know that these policies made substance use, health issues even worse, and I implore my colleagues to join us in legislating to promote health and not perpetuate harm.

We need to take bold action. We need a green new deal.

Congress must pass a true and comprehensive climate and infrastructure package that immediately invests in public renewable energy.
