What do we do in this country when we run out of spectrum?

Iran has made significant efforts to counter the drug flow coming from Afghanistan and has strengthened its borders with Afghanistan to bolster their efforts.

Afghanistan's opium trade that emanates throughout Asia, Europe, and elsewhere is a significant problem that vexes the U.S. Government.

I see the end coming, and I hope the technology is developed that allows us to get more out of the spectrum we have instead of having to crowd people out of it.

Given our non-normalized state of relations with Iran, how does DOD factor Iran into our regional counter-narcotics strategy?

I feel like we have a long way to go for a robust enforcement of the ISA.

Secretary Flournoy, does DOD have structures in place to vet companies for violations of ISA or other sanctions?

I will fully support NNSA's KCRIMS initiative.

If confirmed, will you thoroughly review what a U.S. AFB like Whiteman could expect in terms of inspectors and verification visits from the Russians, if the START is ratified to determine whether it is appropriate?

I take this issue very seriously and remain committed to ensuring that Afghanistan does not become a proxy area for clashes between India and Pakistan.

I remain committed to the thoroughness and accuracy of the report as well as my recommendations.

There are indications that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has a growing role in Afghanistan.

As we move into the next critical phase in the fight in Afghanistan, it is critical that our military leaders learn from the tragic lessons of Wanat.

All of us in this room are in our hearts risk takers, or we wouldn't be here.

We need every penny of that money right now in terms of the economic strength of this Nation.

We need to get to the multi-year. You know you will end up buying that many jets, you know you are.

I think we need to know that number.

I think that the Committee should take a look at those program access rules and see if there is something that we could be helpful on in making sure that they are tight enough and broad enough in this day and age.

Somebody needs to be held accountable.

We better learn from this. We don't want to do this again.

If it's going to save money to do multi-year and we know we're going to buy them, by all means let's do it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your company making a profit.
