I expect you to spend every dollar we give you wisely for our veterans.

Let me add that women, one of the fastest growing groups of the military, are committing suicide, and I hope VA is targeting our female veterans, making sure that they get the help that they need.

During this President's tenure, discretionary spending has increased 86%.

I believe we must focus on our veterans.

Making sure that taxpayers are not ripped off, and that the veterans get the medicine that they need is vital.

I don't understand why other countries can spend $900 and we are spending $40,000.

We need to remember taking care of veterans needs to be figured in as a cost of war.

I find the title of this hearing interesting. We have spent trillions of dollars on wars since 1988.

Part of this fairness, I believe, is that bad employees must be held accountable for their actions and for not doing all they should be doing for our veterans.

I want to know how that veteran got on that facility with a gun and with bullets that could have caused a disaster there.

I am concerned that there is a perception that there is no accountability within VA, and that the agency is not using its current authorities to manage its workforce effectively.

I am most concerned about the veterans getting the care that they need.

under this administration, under this President, we have had the largest increase in VA funding in the history of the United States of America.

In order for veterans to receive the benefits and services we have promised them, it is essential that VA employees be treated fairly.

The allegations in the IG report are serious, and highlight a culture of cronyism within the Veterans Benefits Administration.

We just have to do the Army motto: One team, one fight. And we're all fighting for the veterans.

What is clear is that if we are to meet our promises to our veterans, we must begin to look at reform.

there are people out there that would actually want to completely close the VA and privatize the entire VA system which is totally unacceptable and it is absolutely not what the veterans want.

Give us the facts before any of us walk out the door.

I want people to understand the facts before they walk out that door.

This is not a flying-under-the-radar issue. Yet I feel that it is exactly how the VA and the President have treated it in an effort to avoid responsibility of what is going on.

This is unprecedented. A true Budgetgate, if you will, of our time.

We all need straight answers to our questions. How much is needed, and why?

Our veterans deserve it.

As far as I am concerned, failure is not an option.
