Yesterday was a historic day. We saw the passage of the job-killing government takeover of health care, 18 percent of our economy. But we want the American people to know that today many of us are introducing the identical legislation. I have introduced already the repeal of yesterday's law, as has my colleague Steve King, as will many other of my colleagues today. We will not stand for the Federal Government taking over 18 percent of the health care sector. From the inception of Bailout Nation in September of 2008 until last night, the Federal Government has taken over an astounding 48 percent of the private economy in the last 18 months. This is unprecedented. We will not allow this to stand. That is why we have introduced this important legislation. This fall we will take back a constitutional conservative majority, and after the next Presidential election we will repeal this bill.
