Mr. Chair, I have an amendment at the desk. The CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 514, insert after line 17 the following new section (and redesignate the succeeding section accordingly): SECTION 6008. CLARIFYING AUTHORITY OF FEC ATTORNEYS TO REPRESENT FEC IN SUPREME COURT. (a) Clarifying Authority.--Section 306(f)(4) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (52 U.S.C. 30106(f)(4)) is amended by striking ``any action instituted under this Act, either (A) by attorneys'' and inserting ``any action instituted under this Act, including an action before the Supreme Court of the United States, either (A) by the General Counsel of the Commission and other attorneys''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by paragraph (1) shall apply with respect to actions instituted before, on, or after the date of the enactment of this Act. The CHAIR.
