Rashida Tlaib is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 13th congressional district since January 3, 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Tlaib is known for her progressive policies and advocacy for social justice. She is one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress and has been a vocal advocate for issues such as affordable housing, environmental justice, and healthcare reform. Tlaib has also been involved in efforts to address systemic racism and economic inequality.
Most of the jobs, especially in my community, from corporate polluters, they are temporary, and they will be of little use if another oil spill is allowed to destroy the source of our water and source of our life.
I think it is safe to say, at a minimum, we need to implement real tribal co-management.
It is disgusting that there is even a debate about whether dirty oil should flow through the waters that give us life in the Great Lakes region.

Unfortunately, when the critical allocations were delayed, it is our small town residents who suffer the most.
I also think there should have been a limit to how many extensions states could request to provide small cities with their rightful allocations.
