Rashida Tlaib is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 13th congressional district since January 3, 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Tlaib is known for her progressive policies and advocacy for social justice. She is one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress and has been a vocal advocate for issues such as affordable housing, environmental justice, and healthcare reform. Tlaib has also been involved in efforts to address systemic racism and economic inequality.
The lack of regulations to this facility caused a lifetime of respiratory and cardiovascular problems that my community still lives with.
We have an urgent moral duty, y'all, to build new systems and structures that put our health and environment first.
They have got some--a number of violations. They were actually operating for months, almost six months, Stellantis was operating without implementing the correct equipment.
The priority should not be profit. Just as we heard earlier today, the priority should be reducing impact to environmental justice communities immediately and building a foundation to reach our climate targets through equitable solutions.
