Hansen Clarke: “Congress really needs to do much more to better protect our State and local communities, and I will tell you why.”

My major concern is about the security of our power systems, our power grid, or airports, especially our municipal drinking water and sewage systems.

We actually need this type of investment, and that is because our State and our local units of government, they don't have the revenue to be able to provide for the staffing and the equipment that we need to better protect our people.

We cannot afford to make deep funding cuts that emphasize the cost of a program over their true worth.

I am the proud representative of a region in this country that was known, decades ago, as the arsenal of democracy.
