We should be doing the exact same things with these companies that are so vital to the future of our democracy.

This raises important questions about whether or not it is time to revisit the immunity provided by Section 230.

In 2017, during my time as PSI Chair, I introduced legislation which would remove Section 230 immunity from platforms that knowingly facilitated sex trafficking.

I appreciate my colleagues' diligence on this important issue and I look forward to continuing to work together.

The bipartisan legislation pending before our Committee would take important steps to protect the IG from undue interference.

I want to thank again our witnesses for joining us here today and for our Committee Members for engaging in this critical issue.

An agency official cannot conduct independent oversight of his or her own agencies and actions.

I want to first off thank each of our witnesses for being here today and for your service to our nation each and every day.

We should notice his work.

These actions, and others, have left Inspectors General, and their critical work, vulnerable to political influence, and that is simply unacceptable.

I think IGs are the best place to do that.

I am proud our bipartisan, bicameral effort enjoys broad support from our colleagues and numerous good government groups.

I do not think we should be satisfied with such a statement, no matter the party of the President.

We must ensure that no administration is able to undercut the independent transparency and accountability that Inspectors General provide to the American people.

I certainly want to make sure that the United States continues to lead in autonomous vehicles, that we make those vehicles in the United States with American workers, and it is an American technology that leads the world.

So my question to you is, if confirmed, will you commit to working with this committee as well as my office to inform our efforts as we work on legislation related to autonomous vehicles?

The substantial congestion that we are currently seeing in our Nation's ports is contributing... to delays and problems for them in their supply chain.

What all of my folks require is access to quality health care that they can afford.

I look forward to continuing my work with Ranking Member Portman to introduce bills that will strengthen the cyber incident and ransom payment reporting requirements for key public and private sector entities.

I look forward to the dialog and it is great to have people in place who are now in charge of our cybersecurity system at the Federal Government level.

These attacks have become more and more common, and so it is important that we work to protect ourselves and our networks.

This report follows a 2019 report I released with Senator Carper as Chair of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI), evaluating the same eight agencies.

We have to stay vigilant against these breaches and ransomware attacks, and effectively addressing these is going to require strong coordination between our offices and work in a bipartisan way.

In August, just last month, Chairman Peters and I released a report detailing the significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities of eight key Federal agencies.
