There’s almost nothing about this bill that I’m going [to] have a hard time explaining to the district. This is a giant tax giveaway to wealthy people. Everyone fucking knows it.

Although the bill was not perfect, a shutdown would introduce even more chaos and uncertainty at a time when our country can ill-afford it.

I don’t fear losing.

Mr. LePage and his Democratic challenger, Matt Dunlap, were a far cry from being standard bearers of the generations that will inherit the legacy of today’s Congress.
