I thank the chairman. As the chairman knows, the essential air service program is an important safety net which ensures that many small communities will not lose the scheduled air service that is so important to their economic development. In so doing, EAS ensures that our Nation's aviation system is truly national by connecting even the remotest points to our larger economy.
