What this organization does, and what this gathering does, is this: is that here in Oklahoma, and here with the NGA, we are showing that there is, in fact, a different and a better way.

I am honored to work with the new executive committee as chair, and I am confident that when we put our heads together we will show that government still works, bipartisan leaders still deliver, and service will save us.

By passing this constitutional amendment, the General Assembly has ensured that Maryland remains committed to being part of that conversation—and that the final decision will rest where it belongs: with the people of Maryland.
