Mr. Chair, there are a lot of Vice Presidents I haven't agreed with. I would never have contemplated offering, Mr. Chairman, an amendment to strike their ability to carry out the duties to which they were elected by the American people any more than I would suggest a Member of Congress that doesn't perform very well or very efficiently or very effectively have their offices defunded. They were elected by the people. They are entitled to the resources to carry out those duties and responsibilities given to them by the American people. I hope this amendment is overwhelmingly rejected. I reserve the balance of my time.
