If we want a government that reflects the best of America and can deliver for the safety, health, and opportunity of our people, we must invest in our federal workforce.

The Trump Administration should be ashamed of itself for proposing this pay disparity, and I urge the Senate to address it and insist on parity.

I’m proud to represent more than 75,000 civilian federal employees in Maryland’s Fifth District, and I will continue to fight this Administration’s efforts to denigrate them and deny them the pay and benefits they are due.

Both bills ought to become law.
