I have 10 children, and we now have 10 grandchildren, and will have several more. Ten years from now, as America looks back at this time, almost nobody will remember that we had a partial government shutdown, but everybody in America is going to remember whether or not we balanced this budget. This is what it is all about, balancing the budget. The measure before us now is a procedural mechanism to expedite this process. America wants us to balance the budget in overwhelming majority. Let us pass this and get on with the process.
