I need to apologize to my very good friend and chairman of our subcommittee on Armed Services, Gene Taylor, and I need to apologize to Ron O'Rourke and Eric Labbs who are testifying in a very important subcommittee hearing that I was not able to attend between the two series of votes this morning because I had orthostatic hypotension and I could not maintain a standing hydrostatic column. Because of the great genes I got from my parents, I am really blessed to have more recuperative power than the average person, for which I am very thankful. I wouldn't be here except, for me, this is a very important day. I think it is a very important day for the country and the world. You see, 2 months from today will be the 51st anniversary of what I think will be regarded very shortly as the most insightful speech given in the last century.”
