Specialist New had the conviction that if he were to wear the insignia of the United Nations, that he would become, as the Vice President indicated, he would become a U.N. soldier, and he thought that this was a violation of the oath he took to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. He would gladly have gone to Macedonia as a U.S. soldier assisting in a U.N. operation. Our military personnel did that by the thousands in Korea.…”
